A powerful message in such a short piece. This one really made me think. Being two faced is part of being human. I don't like it when people are two-faced. I like honestly and transparency. Have I ever been two faced? Probably, yes. But not in a mean way. Probably in moments where being totally transparent and honest could be hurtful. I enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing.

    I suppose we all have told that little white lie at times in order to save someone from being hurt, but that's not the same as out and out lieing in order to get what you want. Thanks for reading and enjoying.

Oh yes, we could present one face to someone, but be hiding one's true face from them all the time, of course the extra face is metaphorical, so even in that he was dishonest, this is a wonderful flash fiction Carol, blessings Roy

    Even though I am sure some things would hurt, I would prefer to know the truth and not be lied to....besides, the truth always seems to come out in the end and that's even worse. Thanks so much!

This is a great dialogue only message. Unfortunately, there are many instances when it's better to say or agree with the generally accepted principle rather than say what is really on your mind. You just don't tell women they're fat, or tell a child their artwork is ugly, or tell a writer their poem sucks. Instead, we display our happy face.

    Yes, we skirt the truth to prevent hurting someone, but that's not quite the same as telling lies to benefit yourself. I always love your "happy face" because it makes me happy too!

    Yes, I do believe I know a few in my lifetime that have worn or continue to wear two faces. In the end, it will always hurt someone. Thanks for the review and I hope all is well.

    Me either! Some of them even have three-faces, I think! One for each person or thing they are doing. For me...it's what you see is what you get!

This is amusing and really quite true. It he tells her she is beautiful and doesn't mean a word of it, he's actually proving how two-faced he is. Neither of them would be good friends to hang around with.
