This is certainly getting creepier. The unnamed man wants her to leave and says they will hurt others she loves if she tries to leave. That's a bit of a catch 22. The unnamed man seems so lonely. Is that what happened to him? I am also wondering why she passes out when the situation at that moment doesn't seem that dire.

It's cringe worthy ~ Now, that's a proper line!!! It just about sums up how I'm feeling this whole time. And now, whatever they drugged her with... and the man with the warning. She should not ignore it. I've been wondering if the brother had been hypnotized and or drugged to do what he did. Or, if he had done it at all.

Of course, no spoilers from you, lol. Still, I like to talk it out.

Take care,
Rhonda

I'm wondering if the stranger is an undercover cop? Danielle is definitely in danger here and Oliver is not to be trusted. Callum has to get her out of there before she's completely under Oliver's spell. This is excellent, intriguing stuff, Jacob. Your story is moving along at a good pace, continuing to keep the suspense and mystery at a high level. Well done! Debbie

This chapter is revealing of Danielle's character. Even though she doesn't feel comfortable dancing anywhere at all, she acquiesces to Oliver's request with "Um, ok, sure."
I noticed another reviewer pointed out a comma is necessary when Oliver says this:
'Danielle would you like to dance?'
So just insert a comma after Danielle there.

'But of course if you don't feel ready I'll be happy to wait a few more days.'
I would suggest putting one comma after the word ready.
It also seems two glasses of wine, worrying about what the man near the vegetable garden patch said, and perhaps something else makes her yawn and pass out rather suddenly. We will have to see if the next chapter helps satisfy her curiosity and maybe find out if there was something foreign added in the wine.

What did Oliver do to Danielle? I know she's in danger. I can't wait to read more.

'Danielle would you like to dance?' he asks (Danielle, needs a comma because he's addressing her)

I stare at him, it feels like I've been punched in the guy. 'What do you mean?' (gut???)

She has been warned and she needs to get out and not let Oliver put her in a trance again. I hope her brother is innocent. You have a very interesting story going and I'm always glad to see you have posted another chapter.

I think she has been drugged! And the stranger has lots of information but doesn't seem willing to share. He warned her but didn't tell her anything...or did he? Interesting!! Write on, Jacob! I need answers.
Smiles, Carol
