Such a beautiful leading of the mind through an image... the 'flow' from the person's perch down to that silent violet just out of the water's reach is a wonderful employment of the naani here, Gypsy -- thanx for that calming smile this evening! ;)

Violets along the shore is a special touch. I have enjoyed crossing a few stone bridges. They were always special, not sure why, they just were. Once again, your God given talent shines brightly.

This reminds me of the safe place that God provides for us when those rapids of life come rushing in. We are assured of His bridge to shadow and shelters us (violets) under his protection that is given by grace.

It's interesting to use "missed" because on one hand, it missed the violets and so that violets were safe from the rushing water. But on the other hand, in the rushing, they missed seeing the beauty. A lovely naani!

It's interesting to use "missed" because on one hand, it missed the violets and so that violets were safe from the rushing water. But on the other hand, in the rushing, they missed seeing the beauty. A lovely naani!

I like this Naani - it's written so vividly that even without the (beautiful and well-chosen) image I would be able to imagine the scene. Such contrasts between the rush and speed of the waters, the weathered age and smooth strength of the stone bridge, and the fragile and ephemeral violets. Very beautiful.

I like this Naani - it's written so vividly that even without the (beautiful and well-chosen) image I would be able to imagine the scene. I have been to a place like what you described in the Naani poem and in the photo with the same bridge. I remember seeing a bunch of violet flowers. It brought back good memories.
