Ciao poet, you now have 5 votes.

First off I like your original approach , I was getting tired of reading gore laced poems.

When I read your poem I could not help but think about my government just 10 days before we went in lockdown for the first time in March 2020.

Our leaders were repeatedly assuring : there was no need to panic, that the situation was under control.

Over the last 4 years I have learned that when I hear : we have everything under control means completely the opposite.

I'm not sure this is really in the horror genre, but it was fun and funny. You got the syllable count right. Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes to you.

I would consider the aftermath of being hit by a safe.

Aww he's so cute too! Lovely pic and very amusing, albeit tragic, 13 syllable poem to accompany it. Very relatable too as bad luck always comes in shedfuls...or safefuls! Good luck! Debbie

Hahaha! If Thursday was the worst, it must have been really, really, bad, if you're glad Friday the 13th is here. You have created a clever poem based on the humorous cartoon. Today is the 14th, and I hope you win the contest.

I thought this was terrific. I can almost feel a pause in this thought and the realization that it is now Friday the 13th. It's short, punchy, and put a big grin on my face. Great job!

The more we focus on the thirteenth, the more we give power to bad things happening in our lives. What a wonderfully written poem, and I love the picture. Good luck in the contest! Have a great day, and God bless.

LOL Funny and still fitting within the horror guidelines. Dark humor counts too! Thanks for sharing this unique look at horror. :-) Good luck in the contest.
