Oh wow, you left us with quite the cliff-hanger. You have built up suspense well. You've still got me worried that Danielle is going back to that horrible place to stay. She's quitting her job and even trying to get Callum to go as well.
Great character development and intrigue.

Take care,
Rhonda

I kind of figured that. The nice in me would like for her to run, but, then that doesn't make for much of a book, lol.

Great place to end the chapter, awful place when I have to wait until your next post to see if this connection, she has made, amounts to anything. My thought is it is someone from the house making threats, but they don't seem to use media.

I can't wait to find out what Max discovered about Ian. I have a feeling the people at the compound are who threatened Max. I also feel they ordered Harvey to murder his parents because they left the compound. I can't wait to read more.

Now there's an interesting development and a nice hook at the end. Also, good to have a clarification as to why Danielle isn't bothering with Harvey at the moment (although if he's going to speak to anyone, she may well be the best bet). Excellent, Jacob! Debbie

Your writing has has a suspenseful quality that really pulls you in. I was instantly drawn into the tension between Danielle and Max. The way you build up the mystery surrounding Max's past and the threats he faced is so well done. I like how you shared Danielle's anxiety - I could feel the weight of her search for answers. Great job! This was so enjoyable to read.

This is news that the Max was getting threats and didn't dare put any more information about about the other person killed. I anxious to find out what Max learned that he couldn't put on his pod cast.

Nice cliffhanger, Jacob! Of course, the reader is sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to know what Max found out and if it will help Danielle in any way. This Max guy seems a little shady himself though so she better weigh his responses carefully. And who did the threats? Jeremiah or Oliver?
Smiles, Carol
