A little look back at better times before Susannah disappeared and Joshua and his mom spent coffee time together.

I appreciate the backstory, Jacob. Gives of needed information and also a break from the day to day.

Hmm, so Susannah wasn't in touch with Josua for a while before she died. I am so curious what was going on there. I think we've had a couple of hints, with his father Daniel and his sister Rache. I like this story and you're doing a good job writing it.

It does appear that Susannah and Joshua have a good stable relationship. I am wondering why Susannah isn't answering his messages though. Stacey is wanting to have a vacation with them and is willing to spent her money.

This post is effective in showing Joshua's anxiousness concerning Susannah's whereabouts, but gives no clue as to the reason for this. What does he know that he's not revealing? This is frustrating - at least you keep your readers on the hook. kay

I don't know if I've missed it here but am I to assume this date refers to that of her murder? Perhaps it could be clarified? Your story reads fluently. And it's clear that Stacey and Joshua have a good, easy relationship. But I'm not able to say how significant her failure to reply to Joshua is without knowing when this took place.
...it might have been for the eyes of any (lady)
a bit lumpy - who might have (happened to have) been around him. Do we need the bracketed bit?)
Thanks for sharing this excellent story, Jacob. Take care Debbie

Thank you Debbie, I'm pleased that you enjoyed it. I have tried saying this is a flashback scene before, but others haven't liked that, so at the moment I think I'm just keeping the dates at the top of each chapter.
