Very smooth dialogue between the characters, it is not easy to have conversation flow when it is being written, and not spoken. I think this is well written and has tge makings of great mini series. Thanks for sharing.

Your epilogues are just as good, if not better, than those early chapters. I remember touring California years ago and purchasing a bear sticker because I felt they were "cool". Now, I know the true symbolism behind it. Also, I like the way you sneaked Juaquin Murrietta into the tale.

Your support has been such a help! I'm planning to write about how California places got their names. I always assume people know these things, and then I realize nobody taught them. Hmmm...Thanks again!

When I tried to home teach my daughter from a Christian curriculum, I realized how much real history is ignored in our classrooms.

I will be there, awaiting your future works!

I thought this was well written. The conversational tone feels real. The detailed descriptions work well as I could picture this all in my head. This was an enjoyable read. Well done!

Hi, Sharon
I remember that in my review for your last chapter, I said that we were almost finished and now this is the almost last episode. So I guess I was right. But then I cheated I have a little bit of knowledge of the history of California.
What did happen to all of the things Vallejo owned. You don't live in Northern California. But we have cities here named Fremont Vallejo. Our main hospital system here is called Sutter. I think that at least one of the armies would've been housed at the Presidio. The Presidio is a very beautiful area of San Francisco near the Golden Gate Bridge, it was pretty land with huge houses. It must've been where the officers stayed. But I think back then it might've also housed soldiers and cavalry. Now they are private homes for the wealthy
I guess what happened to Vallejo's land is that the bare flags took it
I liked reading your story
Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much Pam. I think I'm going to write about how Vallejo, Benicia, Fremont, Solano County, etc. got their names. I'm guessing there are people who would be interested to know about that. Thanks for giving me that idea.
