Good grief Herbert! Lighthearted? Mentioning old screen stars serendipitously is one thing; having dragons crashing through castles willy-nilly is another.
And having kings lop off body parts for no sensible reason is no lesson to impart to kiddos. It is a romp for sure. And it is well written. But fantasy is not a category I read much. You are talented at it, but it is not for me. Karen

Thank you for your very kind review. And I understand completely. I struggle mightily reviewing poetry, the few times I force myself.

This is a fun story for Ohmie, although you might make him a very bright and sophisticated seventeen. A bosoming 15-year-old Princess May sounds about perfect for the YA set. Why would there not be a scar on his finger in a week? Can he do magic?

Thank you for your very kind review.
I think that they were concerned that natural healing would not make a sufficient scar to satisfy the king.
15/19 was acceptable in those days (smiley face here). Plus, there will be no kissing or touching in this story. (another smiley face here)

I know the age difference acceptable in earlier days was that, but YA, which is usually under 18 see 19 as "they should be grown up by now". Although I like your stories really well and I haven't seen 19 for many decades.

I have no idea what young adult readers prefer these days, so I won't be the best judge of this series. Did you say you have grandkids? I wonder if they could be test readers?

Perhaps kings and queens and princesses and kindly young men with word boxes would still hold some entertainment value for these young readers.

I read that you have two books coming out for Kindle - good luck with your sales. I would remind people every time you post. I've never owned a Kindle.

Thank you for your great review.
Can you believe that my grandkids have never been readers-for-entertainment? (ages 17,19,22,24)
The two Kindle books are now in paperback (Ohmie to the Rescue Vols. 1 & 2)

Oh - I can share where you can get much better dragon pictures. It's that game I play with my grandchildren - flightrising.com
This is a cute story and I think it would appeal to everyone who likes fantasy. Good that Ohmie didn't lose a finger or his head!

Nice job again! The introduction of the dragon crashing into the castle immediately grabbed my attention! You do a great job of creating a sense of chaos and urgency. The relationship between Ohmie and Princess May is so enjoyable to read.

Wayne, This is a very well written story about Ohmie, the King and May. You used very good descriptive words and very good dialogue. A very enjoyable read my friend. Blessings, Teri

Hi, Wayne. I hope you are well

Your story is well written. I did not see any glaring errors and I found it entertaining. Although I always have trouble with these period pieces, especially when they're fantasies.

It sounds like all Ohmie very nearly lost his head and he did lose a finger. Maybe the princess should've told the king that they were exercising that way

What are YA's? You mentioned these in your notes, but I see no reference to them in the story. Maybe in a previous chapter?

Here. I think it is awkward where it says than their own pleasure. It makes it seem like it's an either or. Either they cause her ruin or they have their own pleasure But they can do both

" when confronted with those more intent on her ruin than their own pleasure. "

Here did you mean May?

" led to places even Mayh had yet to discover."

I enjoyed reading your story

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Another very entertaining episode for Ohmie's unconventional life. I was hoping the dragon would have reappeared or played a larger part. The cats seemed a larger threat. Keep up these imaginative episodes!
