Stalker much? I am busier than a one armed paperhanger at a wallpaper convention. I do not have time to review each one in order to catch up. Good theme. Good work. Karen

Hey Jim,
it might seem creepy now, but there was a time when it was considered romantic I think. Being a teen boy, and dealing with all the desires of a man and none of the ability to realize those desires is so frustrating. To be rejected is one of the most humiliating experiences one can have, even if you're not a teen boy. Well done Jim.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

You know, you're right. Back in our day, this would have seemed okay, but today it's considered stalking. I feel for this kid.

Thanks for your great review and for the 6 too, Tom.

With a fourteen year old's hormones raging, I'm not surprised that he would conceive of such a plan to stalk Sandi for the identity of her boyfriend. You've captured his hurt and resolve to continue his quest.

Yep, it's hard to rein those hormones in. They made us do silly things in our youths.

I does seem girls feel awkward dating your guys. That doesn't stop the younger guy having crushes on older girls. Getting disappointed and rejected is all a part of growing up. This guy almost acts as though he might bevcome a starker to find out who she might be dating. I enjoyed reading this post.

Good word for it: stalker. That's what he's doing, although at least he's keeping himself hidden. He seems awfully desperate for this girl. Ah, what young love (lust?) will do to a teenage boy.

Jim, This is a very well written chapter. You used great descriptive words and very good imagery with the picture you used and with your words. I look forward to the next chapter. Blessings, Teri

It's a deal! I wish some more people would read Christian work too. It is very sad. Blessings, Teri

I hope Brian doesn't work too hard trying to get a date with Sandi. It is clear she likes him but apparently, she'd lose her social status if she dated him. I hope Brian doesn't get hurt in the process of trying to win her over. I was hoping he'd also say something to encourage his sister who has had her own romance dreams crushed.

You may be disappointed in this, Helen. Unfortunately, Brian has somewhat of an addictive personality, and he tends to get carried away with things. It becomes all or nothing with him, and he tends to do things with a gusto that sometimes sees him go too far. We saw this a little at the beginning when all he wanted to do was eat and play chess online following his parents' death. And, of course, there was that scene in the Prologue.

My own personality is something like Brian's. I tend to get on kicks and I go full-bore with them, often for long periods. Golf and bridge were interests I pursued quite heavily when I was younger. Playing computer chess lately has gotten me hooked. Writing novels too, I guess you could say. These sound like fairly healthy obsessions, but I was also quite heavily into marijuana in my late teens and 20s. The thing that really prompted me to give it up was a persistent case of bronchitis and the birth of my children. Fortunately, marijuana is not physically addictive, so it was easy to go cold turkey.

Oh-oh. But have noticed that addictive personalities do better on Fanstory? Lol. You have a healthy balance here.

I think what Brian is doing is obsessive, and it could be called stalking, which is funny considering how immoral people are today, and yet we would call obsessive crushes as something less than savoury. There are rules emerging which is really Pharisee-ical in essence, in other.words not mosaic law, what Jesus condemned laws made by 'white washed tombs' welll dine Jim, blessings Roy

Absolutely right you are, Roy. Obsessive and stalking, although she is not aware of it. This tendency to obsess is a trait of his that will plague him through his life, and he will have to learn how to channel it in healthy directions if he is to be successful in life.

You've got it, Dolly. There will be ups and downs in this game of love and infatuation. In Brian's case, it may become a little more than he bargained for.

Thanks so much, and so glad you're enjoying this, Barbara.

To be honest after raising four boys and hearing some of the stunts my husband did growing up, I'm surprised males make it to adulthood.

This is a very good story about coming of age. Yeah, it is a little creepy that he has a plan to get her attention, but guys who try harder are usually more truly interested in the girl of their dreams.

Yeah, he's interested alright to the point of obsession, but that's part of his personality, as he tends to go overboard with things.

Thanks so much for those 6 stars, Carol. Very much appreciated.
