Hi Doug
I think everyone had their own hallway filled with the things you mention. Some have more to sweep out to clear room for more faith and inspiration.

Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a nice rest of the week.

Dimly lit hallway is a poignant phrase. It speaks volumes as we contemplate what that means to the reader.
Fate and circumstances come to us all and maybe the answer is "to sweep the floor".
Thought provoking.
Blessings

It seems you have taken this in the way I had intended.

My muse pops up when I'm at work, trying to sleep, or even at the movies with friends, lol. But never when I call for him, lol. I enjoyed this piece you have delivered. Thank you for sharing.
God bless.

You're welcome.

Perhaps we all should "sweep the floor".
What more can mankind do?
We ponder mysteries complex
for anyone but you...
That's quite the 'deep' hallway... (*smile*)

Thank you. I always enjoy your rhetoric, Dawn. I?ve kind a been on a roll with my muse. Hasn?t been like this in quite some time. I believe I have three more poems and two more short stories. So?
look out, cause here I come.
Lol

Real life is keeping me too busy to be onsite right now, but I will certainly look for your work upon my return. I always enjoy it!

I guess when one has an active participation with that musing part of us that is likely to lurch in an unexpected direction, personally, I get quite a few prompts, but I don't necessarily respond all the time, I sometimes say, 'I need my sleep! Well done Doug, blessings Roy

Ha, pure practical analysis. Now, why can?t I do that?

We?re all different, I?ve been doing awhile.

I always have to admire how you handle free verse; I like the dramatic silences between words and stanzas, the fractured sense of experience. Some of these images are quite poignant. The dimly lit hallway (our imperfect view of experience), the eternal, powerless vigil (our helplessness in this confined space of watching what happens to us) and that last image of just ending up sweeping the floor (Maybe it's best if we just forget about it). There is a sad romanticism to the abstract expressionism here, and a powerful aesthetic. estory

God that was a wonderful supportive
heart warming review.
That one really got to me. Simple, truthful, and, and?you meant it.
I know. As you always do. It still doesn?t feel like it could be real, and directed to me, of all people. Does one ever feel like a real writer? Or just hope the pretender
is never uncovered??

Er, what is BTW? Mesmerised by a hallway of memories.
Looking back at good and bad, stuck in time. Like Pandora's Box; are you game to open it? Or just sit and wait for the hallway to speak to you? Well done. K xx

To start again, that would be nice, though we do only get one chance, and to play this against fate, would be fateful, the carpet can only cover so much, very well written****kahpot

This pulled me in so nicely, making me think of times when I'm doing something mundane and pause without noticing to think of something profound. And then, losing my train of thought, remembering what I was doing before the pause. This has a very nice rhythm to it. The stop and go is clear but not at all abrupt. It works very well. Great job!

First, nice hallway. Second, great job of musing over your muse, or life in general, as it is.
One has to wonder what would have happened if you had done things differently, acted upon something you shouldn't have, or failed to act when that would have been the better course? So, sweep all the worries away, or just sweep? Who knows?
Great job,
Rhonda

It's always nice to hear from you, Rhonda. I really mean it. Too often we (humans) do not communicate the simplest, easiest things. Like a compliment.
Thank you,
Doug

Aww, Doug, it's good to hear from you, too. You don't pop in here much anymore. I went through a period like that as well. Glad to see you show up when you do.
