This is just the beginning? I think you are off to a great start! I also like the title of your book. I am glad the animals got out of the barn. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I appreciate it greatly. I will not be putting other chapters in my book up. The book is in publication and I have no longer put it in my files. I have taken them down. Patricia .

This was scary, I don't know why kids are fascinated with matches, it's very common, luckily no one got hurt and Id love to hear more of your stories. no errors noted.

Thank you so much for your very kind review. I appreciate it. Yes it is very fortunate that there was no one hurt and that fire. My mother did get a few burns on her hands as she was releasing the animals from the barn.

I can understand why this memory would stick with you forever. As a child, it had to be devastating to see a building go up in flames. As a child, I remember my sister and I finding a box of those matches. We lit them, but quickly blew out the flame. We put the spent match sticks in the trash can, but my mother found them and punished us. Thank you for your story and for my past memory.

I'm so glad you posted this as I had not read it before. I assume your brother just wanted to play with the matches but didn't plan to set the barn on fine. I'm glad the animals got out. You didn't say how old you were. Since you allertedf you mom to the fire she shouldn't have blamed you. It is sad not to have a good relationship with your mother.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I had turned three on 7 June and the fire took place. I think it was November 6 so I wasn?t quite 3 1/2 years old.

Playing with matches seems to be something every kid does, your occasion to do it was a greater disaster. Although your brother was the one with the matches, your mother expected you to tell on him. The twin bond is tighter than the mother child bond. Your mother's expectations were a bit too much for your situation, but it is a shame you let it carry on into the rest of your life.

Thank you for taking the time to review my work. There was more than just the fire that caused me to lose my relationship with my mother, but the fire was the first thing that caused me to not want to talk to her.

Wow, what a story. I had to go back and make sure this isn't fictional. You've definitely hit me with the "what if" and have me full of questions. But rather smother you with them, I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Great chapter! Thanks for sharing.

What a powerful story. The ending has me a little confused. Your Mon scolded you and not your brother. Is that what you meant. The thorn will be the pain from your mom.
I enjoyed reading the story. I'm glad no one was hurt.

This is a very good first chapter of your book, Patricia! You are so clear in what you wrote that the events of that day must still remain with you as a dreadful memory. I think it was a miracle that all of you and your animals escaped unharmed. A miracle created by your running for help and not hiding and by your mother's cool headed courage.

You don't mention your age, though. Maybe it comes up later in your book. I suspect you were about 5 or 6

It is a pity that counseling was not available for your mother. She must have been badly traumatized that day and perhaps projected all her fear into blaming you.

Blessings, Julia

Thank you so much for your kind review. I appreciate it very much. As for my age, I was born in 1938 on June 7 and this happened in early November 201941 so I was not quite 3 1/2 years old, but it is had a very indelible Image imprinted in my mind and I can remember standing by the fence frightened what I was seeing. After that, I was not able to talk openly with my mother about anything. Later in life when I had to go through counseling for bipolar disorder, this story came out, and the counselors agreed that it was probably at this point that I had lost my communication with my mother ..

Oh my dear, you were hardly more than a baby and so was your brother

I think you were guided to share your story in a book and movie so as to help others going through trauma

    Blessings, Julia

What?s the things that I went through in my life the life story could be a very traumatic movie for somebody to watch, but also a movie that would uplift those who were viewing it because of the hope that came within me when I went through these trials and came out the other end as a person who can praise God.

As a mother of four boys, I know for me my boys could never do anything that would stop me from loving them and being there for them. They are adults now and three of them have families of their own. Thank you for sharing this story with us.

This work has reached the exceptional level

That's certainly some memory to have, though obviously not a joyful one. My first real memory came when I broke my right arm. I was probably four. It certainly does not compare to yours. Anyway it is a very intriguing chapter to I'm sure an equally intriguing book.
