Trump was definitely found guilty of "rape" one year ago. Since it was a civil case, the consequences for him were financial sanctions rather than criminal penalties. He was found liable for damages in the initial amount of $5 million, and because Trump kept defaming Carroll, online and at rallies, he was fined a significant additional amount.
Trump used his usual denial, "never met her, she's not my type". Yet in his deposition he was shown a photograph of himself, with his wife at the time Ivana Trump, and E. Jean Carroll and a man. When Trump was asked who the blonde woman on his left was, he identified Carroll as his wife Marla Maples. So Carroll was indeed his type and despite his continued denials he had also lied about knowing her.
This is a powerful entry into this contest, so I wish you much luck with the voters.

As an Australian, I am worried and horrified that Trump is even one of the candidates. Biden seems to have more integrity, but seems to have few of the necessary qualities of leadership. I fear the US is caught between a rock and a hard place. Incredible to me that there are no other choices, but your political system is very different from ours. Best wishes for the contest.
