Eleanor should treasure this letter always once she is old enough to receive it. The wishes you have for her are some of the best I've heard. Three is a fun age for kids, but trying for parents as three-year-olds are such explorers and so curious about everything and how the world works.

Eleanor is into everything and gets an adorable little grin before she does it. One knows she's up to no good before she does it. LOL Thank you for your support.

Oh, Barbara, you brought a tear to my eye. What a beautiful little girl, and how very special she must be to you. You can see the spirit in her eyes, but a deep and precious heart as well. I absolutely adore the answer she gave you about what she wants to do when she gets older. I know you'll never forget it.

Take care,
Rhonda

I'm surprised a teacher would post student pictures on FaceBook. Did she ask permission from parents beforehand? Eleanor is very cute, and I enjoyed reading your letter. I know the feeling about having to leave grandparents, as well as a son going back to college. Both are difficult at the time.

You have very good wishes for Eleanor, as well as a very good lesson at the end. Thanks for sharing everything. You did a good job.

Thank you for the wonderful support. At my school district we had to have parent permission in writing. I don't know about that school district.

Hello Barbara,
I'm so glad I saved one last six. This is very deserving of it. I love the fact that you are writing to your granddaughters with the future in mind. What a great idea. While they may be too young now to fully appreciate what a treasure they will have, in time they will come to cherish your words of love and wisdom. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful post.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

This is a real heart felt letter, I love the admiration of the character of the little girl you show us here. I love the advice. Stay true to yourself, have the confidence to bring your light to the world and share it. And keep the faith. Maybe that is most important of all. There's an intamacy and personal style to this that is very strong. estory

Simply beautiful, Barbara, and what a treasured gift to bestow upon Eleanor.
I am new to becoming a grandparent, and I simply adore it.
Your wishes are the very same wishes that I hold in my heart for my three little ones.

Thank you for sharing!
Best Wishes,
diane

I guess at 76 I may have missed something in life called grandbabies. No big thing. Our adopted daughters now in their thirties don't seem to be concerned, and as for me. ??? It's ok
Glad you find pleasure in yours.

What a beautiful little girl. Your four wishes for her are loving, perceptive, and in years to come, Eleanor will know how much her grandmother loved her.
She will treasure each word.
Best wishes,
Mary

This purpose for writing s a whole hearted concept. These words will always be keepsakes, no matter what may come: "I admire your intelligence and your free spirit." I'll continue to ask that question as you get older. It will be fascinating for you as you watch it change over time.

Barbara, it's a great picture. It does beg the question what did your face look like? The advice you gave her and the wishes are spot on. Very well done. Terry.

Thank you for the support. I appreciate it. Eleanor and I looked very similar only I have dark brown eyes and at one time dark brown hair, almost black.
