Probably correct it will take two letters, one for each granddaughter.

Sounds like they are two different people, and like most sisters, one quiet and the other boisterous. Hope the visit was worth making.

Fascinating how different children can be and I'd only wish for them to grow up happy in their own skin. I could sing the praises of both of them at the moment: the free spirit versus the particular, conscientious one (perhaps falling more towards the former). But there has to be some learning and compromise along the way to adjust to the norms of society. It's no good having a free spirit if you're permanently in trouble; nor being so particular that everything has to be done a certain way and could become rather obsessional. So the characteristics need to adapt to the surroundings but hopefully not in such a way as to undermine the essence of their personalities. Thanks for sharing Debbie

Thanks for sharing the image, notes, and story. Hope you get to see the soccer match. Your granddaughters sound like great kids. I think a lot of us can relate to being called by their first and middle name. I remember my mother doing that! It is always interesting when there is more than one child in a family, and they can be very different. When I was teaching, there was a set of triplets, one girl and two boys. I taught the girl and one brother. He told me none of them liked each other. That sounded weird to me!

Hope you have a good trip and enjoy your time with family. Good luck with the letter; I'm sure you'll get some inspiration after being there!

It is what grandmothers do. They listen. they listen, they listen. They then take them to the ice cream parlor and they listen. However, before leaving for home they give advice that may or may not be heard. Enjoy your moments, they are rare.

Well written.
Times have changed so much. I don't remember two words exchanged with my grandparents. Of course we lived some distance away.
But on second thought, maybe in older times there was more sharing and it's my family that was an aberration.
Best wishes.

Awwwww! Grandma is blessed indeed, and with her talent, I have no doubt those letters will almost write themselves.
Safe travels, my friend, and God bless. Thank you for sharing.

Oh boy! Sounds like Grandma has got to get in their and do some Scooby Doo-ing. Solve the mystery, unmask the villains. Band-aid the boo-boos. Then finish off with home-made cookies for everyone?

Regardless the issue, I am certain you got this.

Sounds perfect to me. LOL Homemade cookies and brownies solve everything, right? Thank you for the support.

This story, Not Really a Letter, brings the family a little more into the light and notes the ages and what they might be going through. The "Elli/Eleanor Ruth" distinction says loads about the diverse personalities.
