I am tearing up. It is your fault. You've gotten me so invested in these people. I truly care for them. Thank Goodness I ordered the big size Kleenex. When she truly passes in the story. I will be destroyed.
Thank you for your absolutely amazing writing.

Might not be as dramatic as you think. Thank you for this and sorry for the tears. Gretchen

Oh, spoiler alert! Crying is good. I long ago quit crying about the pain. I only cry when I am very happy, or when I am truly moved. Take it for the compliment that it is. Hush up and write some more. Karen

Well, I hope my "Alistar Adams" makes people laugh.

you devil, you! I have tears, reading this! I love them both. This is so sad.
I'm glad Iris left what's in her will to Jameson.
Great ending to this chapter.

I had no doubt Jameson would be there for her. I have to say that this scene was so real I felt all of Jameson's uncomfortable and devastating moments in those eleven minutes. Great chapter, but then they all are! Best, JohnC

Iris sounds like she's the best friend Jameson, there's something about a friend that's much older than you, is not like a friend of our own age, they have real wisdom, and a sense of presence. Two of your greatest characters you've created Gretchen, well done, blessings Roy
Typo : You look very dap(p)er

Jameson has really taken a liking to Iris. I wonder if he and Clair did not separate, would they have met and if they did, would their relationship be solid as it is now?
We'll never know because that's not the story. They are both extremely lucky to have friended each other.
Looking toward the next chapter...

Doubt they would be as close. But a really good point. Gretchen

I really like Jameson. He's a keeper. I enjoyed reading.
Jameson nods but looks toward me nervously. "Yes, sir." (looks nervously, the adverb needs to be as close the verb as possible.)

A lovely, tender chapter. Always good reading and you continue to let us ride along in these folks' various journeys. I know you guys tend to leave double letters out should the following be very dap(p)er

Beautifully done! Such a difficult subject handled sensitively and emotively. I knew I was going to be moved by this meeting, Gretchen and you didn't disappoint. It's so clearly written without fuss or overly descriptive detail. What we get is simple and poignant. Small edit: dap(p)er. I really enjoy this writing style which is very effective. Well done! Debbie

I was going to save this six for Terry, but I'm in tears. Jameson will be there for her, and she will be looked after till the end. Yes, he has a lot to deal with, but Iris and Jameson have bonded, and, sadly, nothing but her fast approaching passing will get in the way. The way you ended this was beautiful, Gretchen. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

Thank you so much. This novella has more fans than Terry Joe. Probably because death and divorce are more prevalent than crooked preacher's. LOL. But I do appreciate this stellar review and rating. Gretchen
