You're very funny, Jim. This is quite an original idea for a poem, but you took it and ran with it beautifully. Your poem is bouncy, and your rhyme and rhythm work perfectly, with the picture providing the perfect complement. Thank you for providing a well-needed smile.

Wonderful poems deserve wonderful reviews. It?s only fair. 😀

Lol. A very humorous poem and the solution planned for the unwanted belly is even funnier as that plan goes awry. Maybe it's not that you are a "fathead" maybe it's all gone into a super-brain!! Lol. Well done.

Well, I don't know about that! It ended up being a pretty stupid idea :(

Hahaha... your poem is really funny, thank you for the laugh. I heard drinking beer makes people to gain fat in the gut, I don't know if that's true. If it wasn't dark humor I would read it to my grandson , he would find it funny. Well done! Have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks very much, Gypsy, for the great review and the 6 stars. I don't actually drink beer very often, so I can't use that as an excuse. Sugar is my nemesis!

Me too. :)

This was humorous and thoughtful! A lot of people have this problem-- my dad and I just got a rowing machine to share because we both have this issue. :)
I like how you turned it to Betty Bopp. Remember, you are not alone! A lot of us out here have guts!

Thanks, Zoe. Hey, keep the gut. It's better than a big head!
Comment from Jannypan (Jan)
Haha what a fun poem, Jim--the poem--not the
reason for it. You did a great job with the end
rhymes and the smooth flow. Your described
everything so well. I could see all as I read. I liked
the line about looking like a lowercase b from the side.
Your picture was perfect, too.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Thanks so much for this great review, Jan. I guess a lowercase "d" wouldn't look so hot either.

Lol. This was very funny. It is quite depressing that we can't get our weight to go where it needs to be or where it would be a plus for us. Nope, it hits us in one spot. Thanks or posting this awesome poem. You made me laugh into my bowl of ice cream. Gretchen

Thanks, Gretchen. I really thought I had a solution with that steam roller, but it just didn't quite work out!

This is a hilarious poem about middle-age spread. It happens to most people by a certain age. They say diet and exercise will get rid of it. That's not true. Diet and exercise means you don't get to eat what you want, and you use up extra time going through useless moves. Funny stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your great review, Lorraine. Yep, it's hard to fight heredity. As you said, exercise and diet don't seem to do the trick. And as I proved, even a steamroller isn't the answer.

Thank you so much, Chris. I get a lot more stares from folks now with the Betty Boop head than I ever did with the belly!

This is hilarious. Being able to laugh at oneself is important, but so is taking good care of that same self. I enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing this with us.
