After reviewing your latest post I went back to read the previous two posts..There isa kind of rawness to your writing ,sometimes it feels like a slap because i often wonder if luckier ones could not do something ,something to make things better...
This six stars review is my indicative of my deep appreciation...

Saku: Reading your comment brought tears in my eyes. You touched my unexplainable and painful feelings of homelessness in our country. My fears may be irrational, but I feel our hearts have become hard and we are unwilling to create a society that would take care of all citizens and non citizens. We are not luckier, we are not unlucky like that woman in the street of Los Angeles every day. I could not get her out of my mind, and felt helpless and incompetent in helping her. This is her story and there must be many such stories. I will feel, successful if this story reaches to our decision makers. I appreciate your thoughts and the ranking you have given. All the best.

Hello Arun
Homeless people are a common scene in Indian cities. I used to think that if all those rich industrialists and business men spared something ,could nt they have better lives?

In my 30 years of life in Mumbai, I am totally aware of Indian homeless population. My group leader made more money than I did as a supervisory Engineer, slept on the side walk and rented a tree to keep his bedding guarded by a local person. I saw in West Africa, same phenomena. In the USA, this is built in the society's psyche, not to recognize homelessness. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Sanku: Hello. I agree with you. I find lack of empathy most visible in third world countries and in India, I believe the ingrained attitude comes from the belief in the Karma Theory. One suffers because of past bad Karma perhaps prevents people from looking after the unfortunate people.

The most poignant part of your write for me was this line, "Like everyone else busy chasing our own mirages, possibly, you may have seen and ignored them." Very insightful.
While there are some grammatical errors they can be forgiven. A moving piece of prose that says a lot of good things about you as a person. Thank you ð???

J.T. I don't have words to express my gratitude for your kind and encouraging comment. I am, some may call, sensitive person. Homelessness of humans hurts me in a way I cannot understand. Woman in my fiction is based on a real person I used to watch in Hollywood, CA when I lived there. I was a special investigator for white collar crimes in late 1970s, and traveled to many poor counties, mainly coal mining states of our country. Poverty and abuse of women and children I witness in those years has affected me. This story is coming to me from those memories. If the story attracts attention to our cultural degradation happening in our country, I will feel writing was a worthwhile efforts. I will hunt those grammatical errors and correct them, Many thanks.

A woman living on the streets would experience some dangerous situations as we live in an unsafe world. I read an autobiography of a homeless man living in London and it was horrific as he witnessed murders and was beat up several times. I can't imagine what will become of this woman, I wish you luck with the story, love Dolly x

Hello Dolly: I am developing this character with one image in my mind.I lived in LA for sometime, and saw one middle age woman living on the sidewalk of North Vermont Avenue. I watched her facial expressions and body language. I began imagining her life, and then I read Fyodor Destoevsky's Notes from Underground, and this story became a reality. Thanks for your encouraging comment and rating. All the best.
