This piece about dementia was profoundly written. It was so clever the way your words flowed so nicely just like a waterfall. The use of uncoil in both your title and the work is useful and a clear Comparison.

Jenny I am so humbled by your six-star review, thank you so much!
Comment from Joan A.
Oh wow-this poem is so tender. Really beautifully written and resonated with me as I experienced this devastating experience with my mother. Your writing captures this in a surprisingly comforting way: "as my mind wanders over years gone past, then I nap" is actually quite perfect. I recall feeling relief knowing my mom was resting peacefully when she took her naps. Thank you for sharing!

This is a work that is clearly built on experience. The style is fitting for the topic and the message, storytelling aspect, and subtext is clear. Very interesting read and introduction to the cascade style. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Ann, in our finite world, there are many who suffer far more, thanks for your kind words.

Wow, you really did a good job of eloquently presenting dementia in a way that many can now better understand! My mother had dementia in the last few years of her life, so I am very familiar with those wandering thoughts that are so clearly focused on the past.
Thank you for sharing!

A very well-written cascade poem about the aging process that starts the day we are born when we are older we realize our time is running out and we recognize the pattern of aging.

As we grow older we should keep the fears at bay and dream of wonderful things that have happened and going to happen. More smiling. Less worrying. Be one with nature. I enjoyed reading this well-wriiten poem. Thanks for sharing1

You did a super job with this Cascade Poem. I liked that you didn't bother with the rhyme and just told the story and used the lines from the first stanza. Great message, too!

A truly sad poem about a horror that some have to go through in later life. Those that surround and love them suffer as well. A very well composed cascade.

Hello JLR,
This such a warm and caring poem about those who has Dementia. Your poem has a great title, and I love the artwork of the elderly lady. My mother had Dementia before she passed five years ago. But, Dementia didn't fully have her. Many times I could tell she remembered many things in the course of the day. This was such an enjoyable read. Well done.
