A Pandemic Catastrophe

by bob cullen

She stands beneath a setting sun
Her arms spread open wide in plea
Dear Lord, deliver us from this
A pandemic catastrophe

Don't know how or from where it came
But we all pray that it will go
Then we will all be safe again
And then life will resume its flow

Perhaps Lord it's true we just take
Selfishness as a way of life
We tend to think only of self
'Cept in our times of need and strife

I call on all who really care
It's time to drop down on our knees
And pray with all our heart can give
We can overcome this disease

The 'write about this' challenge showed a photo of a woman with arms outstretched, a setting sun shone in the background. Sorry I don't know how to post a photo
