We can hope
After Covid-19
There'll be a silver lining,
once the clouds have cleared away.
I think that once we're safe again,
we'll see a better day.
Perhaps we'll talk much kinder,
offer help to those in need.
We'll be a better nation,
this is what I do believe.
Next time we'll prepare better,
stock mass supplies to find,
enough ventilators, masks, and gloves,
to ease our troubled minds.
We'll be ready to help those in need,
without waiting to pass a bill.
The funds will be there, put away,
by those up on the hill.
What we need the most, of course
is awareness, that's the key.
That this could happen once again,
change life for you and me.
Next time we will be ready,
and know just what to do.
The experience that we gain now,
will help to see us through.
I think that we'll be cautious,
that somewhere deep inside,
we'll still be scared and keep germ free,
but hopefully we won't hide.
We'll mourn for all the lives we've lost,
and make a solemn vow,
to never lose this many souls,
we'll figure it out somehow.
The best of this silver lining,
is more years of growing old.
With appreciation for life itself,
a silver lining that's worth gold.
