She came out of my past.
Surprise Encounter
by HarryT
Jim and I sat in the Crystal Pistol in Chicago’s Old Town. It was the place for twenty somethings to hang out back in the back in the late 60’s. Settled at a table; we clanged our beer mugs. The place was fun because they played folk songs and the entire bar would join in singing songs such as, “This Land Is My Land.”
Over at the next table, a pretty woman about ten years older was seated. She looked familiar.
“Don’t I know you?” I said.
“Yes, Harry, my name was Sister Mary Grace. I was your eighth-grade teacher.”
