My life before God

Until You

by Sally Law

**
Until you,
I knew not love,
although I sensed you were there.
I felt your breath
and life around me.
Oh, how I thought
that was all there was!
You in heaven, and I earthbound.

But then, you came--
a light to my dark eyes,
and food for my starving soul.
Goodness fell from your table,
your hands reaching down.

How you longed to give me more,
looking upon me with loving eyes-
me, the one you had made.
I didn't realize it then;
but my fate had been set,
the day of my salvation.

You would call
and I would answer.
"Yes, Lord, I am here."
