Loop Poem: One Last Look...
To Take Our Leave
by Mrs. KT
<<<~~~>>> Clearly, our time is now done here Here, on these acres just sold Sold to others where our mem’ries Mem’ries were so laughingly told... Told new owners want their own mark; Mark what I now have to say: Say that we must never go back Back to where our knees learned to pray Pray hard that these folks, too, will love Love what we built and planted Planted with few tears while toiling Toiling side by side; health granted... Granted…all will change, be removed Removed from our vision dearly Dearly we will grieve, but treasure Treasure all we once loved, clearly… <<<~~~~>>> |

"This is man, who, if he can remember ten golden moments of joy and happiness out of all his years, ten moments unmarked by care, unseamed by aches or itches, has power to lift himself with his expiring breath and say: "I have lived upon this earth and known glory!"
