Love Poem
A Thousand Flowers
My love's a thousand flowers long
and all I'll bring to honour you.
My love's a wistful selkie's song
from fathoms deep in boundless blue.
My love is light and bright and fair,
a butterfly, a summer breeze,
a silken drift of angels' hair
that tangles in the wayside trees.
As soft as baby's sleepy cry,
yet truer than his mother's gaze,
my love is greater than the sky
that holds aloft the starry blaze.
As sweet as dreams that moonbeams fill
through mists of time in ancient lores,
my love was never matched until
the day we met, 'twas claimed by yours.
