Parents, it's not as obscure as once thought...
The Least of the Seven?
When those seven deadly sins are listed today
it seems that sloth is the one that will drop
perhaps, we should ask if maybe it’s time
to move its position from bottom to top
defined as the willful avoidance of work
whether of physical or spiritual description
sloth brought forth to the modern world
might, perhaps, find a different prescription
for countless young people living at home
their “skills” and “expertise” “unappreciated”
by potential employers and entrepreneurs alike
leaving their young self-esteem quite deflated
idleness passively accepted by online friends
lethargy quietly excused by parents and such
inactivity silently acknowledged, not protested
by a society that has willingly become their crutch
their laziness to not step up, be accountable
their apathy to self and the burden they are now
their dilatoriness posture against manual labor
are all common reasons against work they endow
yes, it seems that the evidence is clearly defined
in the precisely descriptive words used above
as each is a synonym to this almost criminal sloth
that many youth, I’m afraid, can be found guilty of
so do not enable our young people, don't affirm
less than that of which you know them to be adept
unless you feel their indictment may reflect badly on you
ahhhh, then theirs may be sloth, but pride's sin you now accept.

I have a couple of friends at church who have been dealing with something like this for some time now. And while I tread lightly and give input without revealing how completely flabbergasted I am with the whole situation, I just needed to vent a bit.... PLEASE don't any body out there take any of this personally (I don't know ANY of your home situations!) for it is CERTAINLY NOT meant as such. :) :) :)
