Children's Day
Childermas
by rhonnie69
Merry Christmas to all, from the "COLORS" workshop.
We are children's writers.
This is a sanctified revelation of Bible story retelling.
It is designed to help Christian educators teach our children the history of the Bible;
while teaching them what an important part children played at the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The main purpose of this narrative is to provide a voice,
and an audience for our children's own reading and writing experience.
What can be more exciting and fun for a child,
who talks and writes about his very own holiday?
What holiday?
"CHILDERMAS."
Our subject: Observation of Childermas.
Our rationale: Childermas, or Children's Day, also known as,
Holy Innocents Day, is not getting the reverence that it deserves.
Unfortunately, too many of us, especially our children,
have not even heard about this consecrated holiday.
Children's Day, is closely related to Christmas Day.
It is worthy of being acknowledged as being among the elite,
of the holidays that we honor.
Holy Innocence Day should be sacredly observed to commemorate
the children who were slaughtered shortly after our Lord Jesus Christ was born.
Who were the children that were murdered?
Judean children in the ancient region of Southern Palestine were murdered.
They were only two years old : and some children were even younger.
Who murdered these babies?
An evil king named Herod set out his soldiers to kill these children.
At first, Herod wanted to murder the baby Jesus only.
But an angel from God told Jesus's parents to take Him in their arms,
and run away to Egypt, and hide from Herod : so they did.
Herod did not know where to look for the baby Jesus.
At this the wicked king became very angry.
Then Herod ordered all male babies killed,
anticipating that one of the babies killed would be the baby Jesus.
Every male baby through-out Judea was condemned,
especially those born in Bethlehem.
How long did the murdering continue?
The murdering continued until Herod died.
On what day does Childermas fall?
Childermas falls on the 28th of December...
just three days after Christmas Day.
Who started the idea to observe it?
Roman Catholic people started Childermas.
They hold it as a religious observation.
They honor it to commemorate the children
who were murdered by Herod.
How is Holy Innocence Day closely related to Christmas Day?
Innocent babies died horrible deaths at the birth of Jesus.
They died when Jesus was born; which is now called Christmas Day.
"LATER, AFTER JESUS GREW UP.
HE DIED TO ERASE ALL OF OUR SINS."
What became of Jesus's Judean babies who were murdered?
"TODAY : THEY'RE ALL ALIVE AND WELL.
THEY'RE ALL LIVING IN HEAVEN WITH HIM."
HALLELUJAH. AMEN."
