A poem for a child

Child in the NIght

by dovemarie

Child in the night,
Flitting around, with no one in sight.

Quiet as a mouse,
All over the sleeping house.

Squeak! The door creaks,
Through the crack, a child peeks.

Tip-toe! Light casts a shadow
An angelic moon shines through the window.

Glittering keys of a piano,
Too late! That's a "no-no!"

Then softly, mother's hand
Leads you gently back to dreamland.
