I was born deaf on one side. For years the right ear had excellent hearing. In later times that has deteriorated, so that recently I have now been diagnosed as severely to profoundly deaf. My new improved hearing aids now make it possible for the old deaf left ear to do all the work, seeing the old "good" right ear has almost completely died.
