A girl I met in spring

April

by Delahay

Do you remember April
I think it came last spring
The flowers they did blossom
And the birds began to sing
Yes the birds began to sing

There was a girl called Alice
And all the things she said
She smiled like she was happy
But somehow she made me sad
Yes she made me sad

With life comes misery
Oh how I know the pain
We thank God for our sanity
While wishing we were insane
Yes I think we are insane

What are all the chances
It's all still the same
Don't know what I'm looking for
There's no one left to blame
No one's left to blame

I hope I don't remember
There's so much to forget
There's so much lost in loving
The heart is our defeat
Seems our heart is our defeat

Hope often leaves me
In dreams I've been lost
I hope she knows I love her
I pray that she can see
I hope that she can see

Now the weather's getting colder
She still roams about my head
I'll never know why she was so sad
Now that she is dead
Too late now she is dead

Insanity comes in many forms. Some truly insane people walk among us every day.
