Small Pleasures

I want you to know that of all the things you do
this is my favorite,when you pop open a new can of coffee,
bring it over to me and stick it under my nose
so together we can smell its fresh aroma.
The first time you did this
I smiled in surprise,
then chuckled as we both in unison
let out a long drawn out ah...
But what you said next brought tears to my eyes.
You said, I don't want to enjoy any pleasure,
no matter how small, without you.
Of all the things you do this is my favorite,
because really, it's small pleasures such as these
that fill up the cup of love.
