rondeau
A chapter in the book A Perfection's Worth
Golden innocence
by GregoryCody
While sparrows fly like cotton lights
and chase their tails to endless heights~ we breathe beneath a flapping wing, and fall into the hope they bring, then reach unseen and skyless heights. We dance to destiny's delights, while shadows drip gray rain in flights~ and lay the drops atop our King. While sparrows fly. We twirl like ribbons inside nights; now wrinkled fingers; aimless kites, we race on wind - our spirits sing. Her golden soul...one silver ring, His apple fresh...two loving bites. While sparrows fly. |

This rondeau for the contest has a very interesting format;
Three verses, 8 syllables in each line, following this pattern:
AABBA
AAB refrain (first three words of first line)
AABBA refrain (first three words of first line)
This decision to enter the contest was inspired by Visionary1234, one of the most talented people I have ever known. This is where I first heard about rondeau and where I received its formatting rules. Thank you!
And thank you to Yeltel for astonishingly helpful directions and guidance
Thanks to google images for the artwork
(Why does it sound like I'm giving an acceptance speech)
