A tale of emptiness
Nothing.
by GregoryCody
I cry dry dreams with eyes open
Stuffed hopeless, beneath a soul slowly dying. My mouth gulps the breath to my heart's suffocation Swallowing its final goodbyes; pleas for an unattempted rescue A fall to the pit, to a grave laid for fear of unknown tomorrows Echoless abyss; silence sprinting down darkness. Prickled feet of tarantulas, climb from the depths Grabbing at the walls of the cavern like hungry ivy feeding Biting my face with its pointed legs as I peer over the ledge My grin ripped down; popping crusted lips like crystal bubbles Trapped inside the midnight grip of a concrete octopus. Comatose, limbless, lifeless my body drifts, atop a pond of desperate despair Waves exist within the drips of teardrop ripples Nervous tics, shivering twitches; Electrified branches grapple behind wishes. Please leave me not forgotten. I'm paralyzed with the terror of an absolutely nothing At least diseases have reasons for being bed ridden. Staring at a door with no handle, no knob, nor latch As a snout torn from the devil's profile It taunts my empty reach. Lost, alone, listless with motionless sickness Stumbling in search of a home which never existed... |
