The Haunting

Once in a while in
the still of the night,
I sit and watch as
the moon takes its flight.

My haunted heart is
so lost and alone.
Needing your kiss and
the love that I've known.

Searching for solace.
The will to move on.
Motive to get out of bed
since you're gone.

Nothing to live for
my reason was you.
I just feel so empty
my world is so blue.
****
Love came so softly
and left with such sound!
Bending and breaking
my world crashing down!
****
Never once thought that
someday we would part.
And I'd be left alone with
my poor haunted heart.
