The 23rd Psalms and 1/2

by kiwigirl2821

"The Lord is my Shepherd"
yet I am still lost

"He maketh me lie down in green pastures"
mine feel more like desert death

"He leadeth me beside the still waters"
ravaging rivers roar through my soul

"He restoreth my soul"
Satan has a grip on me

"He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake"
I became lost and called your name, but you didn't hear

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death"
Shrouding darkness squeezes love from me

"I will fear no evil: for thou art with me"
why would you want a soul like me who fears everything

"Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me"
My trembling soul lashes the goodness from my heart

"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies"
friends until they let me bleed to death and turned their backs on me

"Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over
Pitch of the blackest sort overflowing in deceit

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life"
Reaping hatred for my existence, forged from the fires of hell

"And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever"
Love the unknown emotion burned black by Satan's spell

The Epiphany came to me
in my darkest hour
a simple thing really
but, one I won't forget

A defining moment for me
I gave up the life I knew
and gave it all to God to
do with as He would do

I said
Please
Here I am
I don't know what else
You would have me do
but, give me the strength
to put my faith back in you

Joyce Meyer came on TV
preaching what I needed to hear
she said it straight
and she said it clear

"for when you walk in God's light
with Him at your side
what can anyone do
that the power of God's love
can not undo
there is nothing to fear
there is only His love"

That night saved my life
and brought me back to
the truth

Thank you for the use of artwork entitled "The legless of war" by Kevan. A beautiful piece.

This is the 23rd Psalms but there is a darker stand alone in the second line of the Psalms stanzas...It represents the struggle to make the right choices and have faith in things even when dead looks like a good option...
