Story of a crime scene photographer.

All in a days work.

by zeezeewriter

Laura Brent circled round to the back of the beach house singing a familiar tune. The noon day sun felt warm and inviting on this late October day.

"Must be nice to have money," she thought as she searched the sky for a cloud. This family would never see another cloud or another sunny day.

The boys from the morgue carried the last of the children to the ambulance.

With her camera shielding her from the brutality, Laura snapped pictures of the ornate fountain where Mr. Faulkner laid his tortured soul to rest. He would stand trial before his God. His crime, a breach of contract to love, honor and protect.

Laura sidelined her rage as tears stung her eyes.

"We found the note." Dave read it aloud, I won't be poor again.

"Glad I'm not rich."

"Me too."

"I need a drink," Dave said.

"Make mine a double."
