A soliloquy
You and I are a Dichotomy
by Tom Horonzy

To be or not to be, is but one question; yet if I am to be, will I be you or me?
As silly as it seems, we are a dichotomy. Innate and inane but rarely in sync, for I am lowbred and vulgar, whereas you retain an august gentility inspiring a reverent form of civility.
If what you say is true, is 'this' a fact? "You for me and me for you." Certainly, we are brothers-in-arms today, tomorrow and pour l' e'ternite'. Oui?
Yes, we are like Athos and Porthos; thus, shouldn't we have a third join to have us be a triumvirate, as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?
Non! We cannot be blasphemous, yet we could consider adding an Aramis type of guy. What say ye?
Yes, but who do we know that might be he?
(pause)
What about Dupree? He left Molly and Carl?
Ixnay. Don't you recall what he did to their marriage? Besides, isn't three a crowd? Thus, it seems best to leave you and me as We. The Dynamic Duo!
Je susis d' accord! (I agree)
Soliloquy contest entry
I hope you have as much fun as I have in joining this contest.
The dialogue is framed so my different personalities discuss in a manner that emulates Shakespeare's soliloquy, supposedly using modern text. One of them took French; the other Pig Latin.
The Dupree (Owen Wilson) mentioned was a segway to a comedic movie -"You, Me, and Dupree," 2006
The photo was donated by Lauma Augstkalne off Pexels.com and reflects my yin and yang duality.
pour l' e'ternite'. Oui? - for all eternity. Yes.
