Shopping - I would rather watch the grass grow!
I Avoid Shopping - full stop
by Peter Jarvis
In the throng of shoppers, I find dismay,
With every step, my joy slips away.
The bustling stores, the endless lines,
Turn festive cheer to weary signs.
With every step, my joy slips away.
The bustling stores, the endless lines,
Turn festive cheer to weary signs.
The jingling bells and flashing lights,
Transform the days to hectic nights.
The pressure mounts, the crowds won't drop,
Will this confounded misery ever stop?
Transform the days to hectic nights.
The pressure mounts, the crowds won't drop,
Will this confounded misery ever stop?
Through aisles I wander, feeling trapped,
In a cycle of buying, tightly wrapped.
The spirit of giving seems to fade,
In the commercial chaos we've sadly made
In a cycle of buying, tightly wrapped.
The spirit of giving seems to fade,
In the commercial chaos we've sadly made
Yet amidst the frenzy, I hold a thought,
That peace and love cannot be bought.
Beyond the shopping, I seek to cope,
For in simple moments lies true hope.
That peace and love cannot be bought.
Beyond the shopping, I seek to cope,
For in simple moments lies true hope.
