The essence of faith.
A Wonderful Thing
by Claire Tennant
Faith is a wonderful thing. If life goes well, it is easy to portray our faith in our daily walk. If it doesn't, sadness pervades like a thundercloud until someone lets the sunshine in. There is faith and FAITH! What do I mean by that?
Faith is your ability to believe in yourself even when it seems others either do not have the same faith in you or are jealous of your success. It is difficult to sustain. I bless the encouragers in my life, the ones who build me up. Apparently, so my sibling once informed me I am a great encourager, but these people are few and far between; therefore, who encourages the encourager? To be honest, apart from my Fan story friends, I can only think of one person in the inner circle who comes close. Oddly enough, his sibling has not learned from his skills!
Our successes promote our faith in ourselves, but what if we fail? To whom do we turn?
* Proverbs 3:5- 6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths".
Oh yeah, God's in charge. He sent Jesus Christ into the world to be part of it. To heal and save, to nurture children, love and guide them. To heal the sick and the broken-hearted, to teach the world about who sent him. To accept those judged by their supposed betters as unworthy. What about the woman at the well?
My faith is sometimes not as strong as it could be, but even a little faith in Jesus' ability to fix matters is accepted by Him. After all, He knows us thoroughly. What a blessing He is. Amen!
