Jealousy

Luckily

I've never been in misery

due to the pangs of jealousy

I read it's an ugly emotion
that stirs and creates commotion

Sadly, love is not always
an everlasting paradise

It can turn hearts to ice
and tongues into knives that slice
when we start to fear
that the one we hold so dear
has stopped being sincere

Jealousy breeds doubt and suspicion,
it fuels mistrust and suppositions

It corrodes,
and takes you down a dark road

Jealousy makes some grow
sharp claws and fangs

while it makes others pull
the trigger and fire bang

All things considered

I'm glad I live alone

with my furry gang

They help me keep
in check my yin and yang.
