Covenants

by jim vecchio

Dear Heart

Wish you were here

Especially in these times

Tired, broken

But still hanging on

To those Everlasting Hands

That will one day

Lead me to you once more

Abram was ninety years and nine

When The Lord made
His covenant

Abram was to be a father of many nations,

His name changed to Abraham

For whom The

Almighty touches, he changes

And He gifted this Abraham

And all his seed

All the land around him

But a special gift

Was a new son, Isaac

With whom The Lord

made that Everlasting covenant

To continue forever

To all his seed after

Forevermore

Darling,

My covenant with you

Was to love you forever

And now, as Time plows me along

I have maintained that covenant

As the descendants of Abraham continue onward

To recover each bit of the Land due them

And vanquish their enemies

In ways never seen before

My love, soon they will have their land

And soon, the Almighty shall return

We shall be reunited

And our covenant shall be renewed

Whose covenant was greater?

The Almighty loved His Creation

I loved my wife

No, we are not in competition

We all belong to God

And God allowed me to love

Write a free verse poem on competition. Tell what it means to be competitive and why you love competition or not. Free verse is a form of poetry that does not necessarily follow to any specific meter patterns, rhyme, or any other pattern. Free verse, despite its freedom, often still has some elements of form. Most free verse does observe a convention of lines and structure. No rhyming patterns.
