Asking forgiveness for the things I've done.

The Call of Fate

by poetwatch

Silently, in my room I wait

and hear the sound of your voice.

The leaves begin to breathe on all the trees, a destined sound,

a loving whisper in the wind.

My heart moves with the call of fate,

for your voice’s given me a choice.

“Choose right or left, the wide or the narrow, that's where you’re bound.

Walk the world and be left behind.

Yet, come to me and be set free,

a voice in the wind speaks.” What will I do?

There are so many pleasures, so many treasures to hold,

for the world owns my human wants.

But I choose the way that I'll be.

I have been lost, but I belong to you.

The world and all its treasures are nothing but a Fool's gold.

This is my heart and soul’s response.

My road has been long with many a spin

I see my wrongs under the setting sun

I cannot change the life I led in this world full of sin,

I ask you to forgive the things I've done.

I am seeking your heart and under your wings I will stay

as a long-lost wayward son that has seen the light of day.
