Made Lower Than The Angels

Saint Anthony was my Patron Saint. Grandma kept these little saints on her windowsill. I used to imagine living their lives.
I fell into the wrong crowd. I knew what I was doing was wrong, but it was so much fun! Till I got roped into killing Louie Cashio.
I can’t get that face out of my mind. Pale, screaming, begging.
I’ve gotten as far away from those saints as I could.
Saints, forgive me!
