Regret sometimes what I have been, considered where I've walked,
have I been diligent in life, and watched if I've been stalked?
I'm sure that many think this way, I know I'm not alone,
but how do I just change my ways from doing what I'm prone?

I know that all my yesterdays would be quite different now,
if I'd have lived by wisdom's plan, to goodness I had bowed.
Yet I know there is someone there, who bears a better plan
and if I'd turned to walk with Him, I'd be a prospered man.

If I had known that better way perhaps I'd wiser be,
if I could put the past behind, I'd think of you not me.
But I need help to overcome, to do just what I must,
I know it takes a mountain load of strength and maybe trust.
