Emotional moments in a chapel

Son Tears

by Jewell Hermann

Having come from a cabin perched on a point,
that divides the water of one lake

I entered the chapel

Not far from where I slept

Metal seat below

Ceiling of wood high above

Sun shining in

Fellow campers trickled in

Filling seats

Some got up

For instruments were to be played

As songs were sung

I felt the love

Of God’s gracious Son

I looked out

The sun shone in

Thinking of all the times I've sinned,
Oh how I need God's love

His reckless love.
