Transitions

by BermyBye50

The gentle breeze stirs blossoms in the trees,

It wakes the Earth from Winter's icy freeze.

New buds arise beneath the warming sun,

A season’s birth, a world of life begun.

The sun stands high, relentless in its heat.

Green leaves stretch wide beneath a blazing sky,

Summer’s rays beam and brighten all the Earth,

Days stretch endlessly, filled with golden light.

The time has come for leaves to wilt and fall,

A golden veil drapes softly over all.

The crisping air brings whispers of decay,

As Autumn’s colors dance and drift away.

The biting wind sweeps through bare naked trees,

Frost clings to Winter’s chilling, frozen breath,

The earth lies still beneath a quiet sky,

Silent, waiting for the light to return.
