What if they hadn't sinned?

Biblical Perplexities

by Tom Horonzy

I was baptized as an infant, never having done wrong. Cleansed of a sin I never enjoyed, like my many-great-grandparents did, long ago. They were held responsible for having surpassed the age of eight, when Reason supposedly becomes girls and boys. They committed "The Original Sin," not I.

Additionally, how original was Original Sin? Had they no ill- thoughts before that act? Logic whispers they did not, for the only law given, that I recall, was "Do not eat of that tree," yet... how innocent would you and I have been if we were traipsing about naked as a Jaybird?

Silly is what silly does, and please remember these are fictional thoughts, so don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

"Too many greats" - translated great, great, great, it would have been 89 generations ago, and would have had me DQ'd for exceeding 100 words.
The picture is one snapped in our loo, and reminded me how I felt thinking there.
