who do you count?

Sleepy Sheep

Who do sheep count when

                 sheep can’t sleep?

Do they count little piggies

                 with cloven feet?

Do they toss as wild horses

                 sail over the lea?

Do they turn and observe

                 a chipmunk or flea?

 
 

Do unsleepy sheep add up

                 big furry bears?

Do they calculate cud chewing

                 cows without cares?

Do they total up kittens or

                 puppies or birds?

Do they reckon up battling

                 buffalo herds?

 
 

Do insomniac sheep count

                 nan and bill goats?

Do they think they count mink

                 in beautiful coats?

Do they count flying fish flapping

                 over the sea?

Do you think sleepy sheep might

                 ever count me?
