Cat Speaks:
You sit there in your gilded cage,
a useless creature, I must say.
Your time is spent on food and drink,
your seed cup refilled every day.
So, you can sing? I'm not impressed,
nor by the colors on your breast.
Put on display for all to see,
I think of you as such a pest.
They clean your cage, it's quite a sight,
your feathers ruffled while you preen.
Your birdseed gets caught in my paws,
you're treated just like you're a queen.
You send out "tweets" to all your friends,
out in the yard, the noise won't cease.
The more you sing, the worst it gets,
I'm driven mad with each increase.
I have a little prize at hand,
step out your cage you'll be a winner!
A cuddle bone that's just for you,
the chance, also, to be my dinner!
There're seeds and bird poop everywhere,
I wish that you would fly away.
Get back my sunny window perch,
that's blocked by your cage every day!
Bird Speaks:
Hey stinky cat, you're back again,
I hate the way you slink around.
You stare in a peculiar way,
hate your annoying mewing sound.
You shred the curtains by my cage,
I'm sure that you have fleas as well.
I hope my feathers are okay,
no fleas yet, far as I can tell.
Our owners treat you like a King,
you wear a collar with a bell.
And pretty jewels that must be real,
at least, as far as I can tell.
You run around, just chasing mice,
despite the fact they feed you well.
An appetizer, I suppose?
At least, as far as I can tell.
They pick you up and cuddle you,
you sit upon their laps as well.
Attention should be just on me,
All felines can go straight to Hell!
quite a lazy cat, there is no doubt,
perhaps someday you'll run away!
Then I will be the reigning pet,
I'l sing a happy song that day!
