Friendship Connections
by Jesse James Doty
What helps me to stay focused and alive is to have plenty of friendship connections.
This is my suggestion for a healthy planet. Interconnective friendships make the world spin around.
Recently, I went to the emergency room of a local hospital and was checked in for pneumonia in both lungs.
My friendly caregivers were invaluable to me as visitors who spoke up for me whenever needed.
The staff’s timing and mine were completely different which meant I was not at my best when the doctors arrived to talk about treatment options.
Friends and caregivers to the rescue. They helped me to balance my equilibrium so that I could be the best part of me again.
I remember during the COVID pandemic I had no visitors to come to my rescue when things went bad in the rehab. While in the hospital visitors are needed and can make the difference when it comes to deciding when to check out.
I am now at home and can breathe a sigh of relief knowing I will get better, “with a little help from my friends.”
My circle of friends and caregivers makes me feel complete. I am at one with them and we celebrate the togetherness of our love for each other. I wish this for all people who need companionship and friendship to allow them to be all they can be.
If this prose piece touches one person, I have done my job.
After leaving the hospital to go home, I questioned why I write and who I touch, whenever I write a piece to publish or post on Fanstory.
Now I think I know. To reach out and honor someone’s touchstone is the greatest feeling in the universe.
Friendship connections are the most fulfilling ways to enjoy our emotional roller coaster ride of life.

Robin, Denise, and Grace are a wonderful team. Even while I was in the hospital they offered love and support.
Thanks for reading.
