Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
a lovely chat

Conversations With a Hummingbird

Wings aflutter, perpetual motion,
 
darting flower to flower,
 
           sweet feeder to feeder,
 
      always delightful to see,
 
           my mother's favorite.
 
Never knew you to be still
 
                 until~
 
relaxing at the lake,
 
       you suddenly appear
 
            and alight
 
                  above me,
 
       clinging to a wiry tendril,
 
             gazing down upon me,
 
                   chattering.
 
Thrilled, I greet you,
 
        speak to you,
 
              welcome you.
 
You dash off, then return,
 
         tiny voice clicking to me.
 
               I am overjoyed
 
                      to have you,
 
                          dear new friend.
